REVIEWS

4 out of 4 stars!  Bo Billy casts his own shadow, and as his album defiantly shows, he's his own man. On his debut disc, Wild for You, [Bo Billy] demonstrates that he has learned what makes a good country single. The mariachi horns on his single "Borderline Crazy" are a distinctive touch... He and his producer, Spencer Critchley, have songwriting talent." -- Jon Bream, Minneapolis Star Tribune

"Florida may have its problems, a high crime rate and, like last time, controversy over the presidential election but it also has many positive aspects like the sun, the beaches and Bo Billy. Bo is certainly a guy the ladies will take to with his good looks and macho image but guys will like him too for his great voice and the excellent songs he has chosen for this album. Songs like the first single "Borderline Crazy" with its south of the border feel and mariachi trumpets, like the chauvinistic "Low Maintenance Girl"; and the terrific "Gospel "Blink";. There are tender ballads too like the emotive "When I See You Smile; and there is my real favourite too, the barroom anthem; The Ying Yang Is Gone;. I can see many new fans going ;Wild For You Bo Billy!" -   Twangtown web radio DJ Pete Smith

"['Borderline Crazy' is] well produced, right down to the mariachi horns, Spanish guitars and Mexican rhythms. In addition, it is so well written that I'm surprised a major-label hasn't snapped it up. Music Row's loss is Bo Billy's gain!" -
                                                  Robert Oermann, Music Row magazine

"Love your album, great to hear good traditional country, not too rocky, & I
can guarantee plenty of air-play on my show." -  Veronica Capaldi, BBC Radio Lincolnshire, UK

"Wild For You from Bo Billy is an 11 track album produced by Spencer Critchley
in Nashville with some songs written by Spencer and 3 by Bo Billy. For me the stand out tracks are the ballads For The Life Of Me and Tell Me Again. I enjoyed all the tracks on this well produced album." - Country Music In Britain

"Real country is back! With a name like Bo Billy, how could this be anything but kicka** country? I just listened to this CD for the first time, and I am amazed at how great it sounds. If the major labels would put out country records like this, maybe they could put country back on top! Bo's edgy vocals, and the killer production courtesy of Californian Spencer Critchley, combine to make for a thrilling listen. There are some real songwriting gems here too. My favorite tracks are 'Borderline Crazy' (this is a single - ask your local radio station to play it!),
'For The Life Of Me' and '69 Beetle.' This record rocks!" - an amazon.com customer

The title track, blaring with horns and sax, opens the album, and from there, we cruise into something that doesn't follow the Nashville wannabes and CMT clones; rather, it comes best described as a little raw, a little romantic, and all real. Album producer and contributing songwriter, Spencer Critchley, has taken his charge and together they have delivered on all promises. The first track to radio, a hook-heavy and dance-driven tune pumped with trumpets, is the infectious "Borderline Crazy"... It has "hit" DNA all over it. The song is pushing Bo Billy into the Nashville neon, and rightly so. This guy can sing and meld his way into the lyrics. He comes across as more than a Saturday night crooner,
but as someone who's traveling in the right direction with a promised touchdown in sight.... [Bo Billy] is spinning across 350 American radio stations. Again, it's no surprise. It's money to marshmallows, the radio honchos have heard "I'll Fit Like A Love," a tune with enough energy to herd and drive a dancehall crowd; simply, it rocks! As does the rib-tickler "The Ying Yang Is Gone," as Billy drags and drawls his vocal over a tune sparking with oomph and a writer's vitality that sees three self-penned tunes on the album. A pleasing surprise is Billy's capable rendition of John Waite's 89 power hit with Bad English, the moving "When I See You Smile". Bo Billy claims the tune, and, in doing so, turns in a sure-to-be concert favorite. With the countrified etching of pedal, piano and guitar, Billy comes to the microphone with a more controlled voice than the remembered
Waite. The softer album-pleaser wins respect because of it." - countryreview.com

"For The Life Of Me" by Bo Billy
Killer Song - HIT Intro is phenomenal - excellent choice of intrumentation. this song has hit song written all over. Steel guitar sounds like the likes of Sonny Garrish or Paul Franklin. All over this song is sweet Nashville production from the guitars to steel - to back vocals - EVERYTHING is top notch and in the pocket. PERFECTLY DONE. Lyrics are well written WOW- EXCELLENT SAX SOLO!!!!! harmonies perfectly laid down - singer sings with excellent emotion - I'm sure he's shopping a deal with this
or working on one. Excellent vocals - arrangement - lyrics - production is worldly. 10 out of 10 - Hit tune here - very well done.
